And have them make me a sanctuary, so that I may dwell among them. (Exodus 25:8)

The Church has been referred to as God’s house. It is the place where we come to worship, study the word of God. Where we study, serve and interact with god and with each other.

Ascension has a beautiful sanctuary and grounds, offices, classrooms, a van and two parsonages. The Property committee has been tasked with overseeing it all. This responsibility consists of Maintenance, Repair and Capital Improvements.

Maintenance of the property includes cleaning and upkeep, everything from changing light bulbs to cleaning carpets, landscaping by professional as well as our volunteer “angels” who beautify our gardens.  Repair of the property includes some routine issues as well as some unplanned issues such as roof leaks, plumbing and air-conditioning problems.

In 2014 our Capital improvement will be comprised of replacing flooring in the ed wing/classrooms and installing air-conditioning to this area.  The refurbishment of the community room including kitchenette and also installing air-conditioning.    Making improvements to the flat roof.  Assisting with the creation of dedicated space for the youth of Ascension.  Replacing at least one bathroom in 2014.  Look into installing video equipment to the sanctuary to enhance the presentation of services.  Hold a fundraiser to replace the cross bushes in the front of the church.
