It’s springtime, and that means it is growing season – woo hoo — finally! I personally love giving (and getting) a beautiful plant or flowers for Easter, and I imagine many of you do as well. When we look around at all of the flowers and plants bloom, it reminds me that these aren’t the only things that can grow at this time of year; it’s important to remember that we can grow in our personal faith, and we can grow as a faith community.
Did you “give up” something for Lent? (I gave up diet soda 🙂 Did you commit to DO something new in Lent (i.e. a hearty personal greeting to your neighbors during the Peace each week)? Were you able to attend any of the Holy Week services? Bible study? (I made it to Ash Wednesday and plan to worship at several of the Holy Week services.) Other than the diet coke (which has little to do with my faith), I see these as some possible seeds that were planted that I hope will blossom into a stronger faith for myself personally and a stronger faith community for Ascension. I hope that as you all reflect back on your Lenten journey and your time in church this past month that perhaps you can identify a seed or two that is beginning to sprout. And I look forward to April showers that will bring May “flowers” to Ascension.
A Happy and Blessed Easter to all!
