PICTORIAL DIRECTORY:
Ascension has contracted with Olan Mills to
produce a new church directory. As you
know, this will only be successful if all
our members participate. All you must do is
schedule an appointment, gather the family,
and have your picture taken. You will
receive a complimentary 8x10 picture as well
as a copy of the directory. Ascension
receives $2 for every family, extra copies
for new members, and evangelism brochures.
Photos will be taken August 19-21 and
October 4-9. Please sign up today between
Services in the courtyard. If you are
unable to sign up in person, please call
Noel Dusanenko at 586-4993 and schedule by

The congregation is invited to attend
a forum to discuss Ascension's vision for
Youth Ministry and Christian Education.
Based on this discussion, the Personnel
Committee will work toward formulating a job
description(s) and hiring one or more Youth
Workers. If this is a topic of interest to
you, please plan to attend on Sunday, August
29th, at noon. Bring your own lunch; we'll
take care of the beverages.
SELF
ESTEEM IN RELATIONSHIPS
is an 8-week women’s peer support group for
women who want to explore the nature of
their intimate relationship in a Christian
context. The group is FREE and
CONFIDENTIAL, and open to women of all
denominations and backgrounds as a ministry
of Ascension Lutheran. The next group will
begin September 9. Pre-registration is
required, and every inquiry is kept
strictly confidential. If you know someone
who might be interested, please refer her to
Deacon Helen. Inquirers can call the church

BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL!
Sunday School begins on Rally Day September
12th. Please join us as we have
some new and exciting features in our Sunday
School program. All children 3yrs old
through 6th grade are welcome. If
you have not received your room assignment
please call the church office. We look
forward to all families joining us after the
10:45 service for the Rally Day celebration!
Confirmation classes for all 7th,
8th and 9th graders will start on Wednesday September 15th with an orientation
beginning at 6:30, for all parents and
students. There are changes to the program
so please be sure to attend.

BASKETBALL REGISTRATION for the Fall Season
2010 – 2011:
There will be a sign up table at RALLY DAY
September 12. Ages 5 to 17 are welcome to
sign up. Depending on how many players sign
up in each age group will determine if we
can have a team. We will also need coaches.
There will also be a sign up sheet on the
YOUTH WALL. Teams must be submitted by
October 1st. If you have any questions or

and association students only on Saturday,
September 18 at 8:45 AM. There will be an
Open House on Sunday, September 26 at 2:30
