It’s Snowing Again. Can Spring Be Far Behind??!!
As I am writing this, it’s the very first day of spring. It’s cloudy, and the temperature is in the 30’s. The flowers are afraid to poke their petals above the soil for fear of another Nor’easter tomorrow bringing first rain and then lots of snow. The schedule of Forever 50 can’t seem to catch a break.
We were able to hold our celebration of March Birthdays on the 7th and play the game, “Left, Center, Right” for “fabulous prizes.” But then the next Nor’easter hit on March 14th, and this time with snow. Not knowing how much or how long it would remain snowing, I was forced to postpone our St. Patty’s Day Luncheon until March 28th. Some hearty folks did come out for Bible Study, and then joined me for cake and coffee in the Social Hall as we played four rounds of BINGO.
The following Wednesday, March 21st, we were scheduled to do wooden Pallet Painting with Jenn Lathrop. On the horizon loomed yet another Nor’easter promising to dump anywhere from 8 inches to 12 inches of snow on Long Island. At this point, the only thing we could do is reschedule yet another event again!
Therefore, our Pallet Painting Party is rescheduled for Wednesday, April 4th.
At this point, all our members of Forever 50 are eagerly awaiting the arrival of nicer weather and warmer temperatures as we celebrate together at our annual Spring Luncheon on Wednesday, April 11th at the Bonwit Inn in Commack.
I will be away in Israel on tour Wednesday, April 18th; therefore, there will be No Meeting that day. On Wednesday, April 25th, AAA Experts will give a Workshop on Senior Driving Safety. By that time, the daffodils and forsythia should be blooming, the trees budding, and the earth warming up to spring! One can only hope!!
