Q. What are your worship service times?
A. On Saturday night we have a 5:00 p.m. service in our Prayer Chapel. On Sunday morning our services are at
8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Misa en Espa ñol is Sunday at
11:45 a.m.
Q. Where are you located?
A. Ascension Lutheran Church is located at 33 Bay Shore Road in Deer Park, New York. From New York City we are at Exit 51 on the Long Island Expressway. Take Route 231 South (Deer Park Avenue) approximately 8 miles. There is a light and turning lane onto Bay Shore Road. Ascension Lutheran Church is across from the Olympic Diner and the Roslyn Savings Bank. We are on your immediate left upon making the turn onto Bay Shore Road. Parking is at the commercial parking lot directly across from the church.
Q. When is Sunday School?
A. There are two identical Sunday School sessions during the Sunday 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Services.
Q. Sunday School is for what age children?
A. We have Sunday School for children 3-years-old up until grade six.
Q. How do I get my child Baptized?
A. You may call the church office (631-667-4188) and arrange to have your child baptized. Baptisms usually take place during a Sunday worship service.
Q. What youth programs do you have?
A. We have a great ministry with youth and much to offer for children of all ages. This includes Confirmation, sports programs, special youth activities, summer camp, Vacation Church School, Bible Club, and National Gatherings. Q. I’m single, will I fit in?
A. We at Ascension are a family church. Many in our Ascension family are single. As a welcoming church, we go out of our way to include everyone. As a matter of fact, we have more members who are single than are married. There is a place for everyone in God’s family at Ascension.
Q. Why should I come to Ascension Lutheran Church?
A. For God’s sake we come to worship. God both desires our worship and deserves it. Ascension is not a perfect church…really none exists. But is a church faithful to the Word of God and has much to offer you. It also provides many opportunities for you to serve the Lord.
